Weekly Newsletter with New Recipe!

Hey Everyone! I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends! My husband and I had his Mom's side of the family to our house and it was a really nice day! (And I got plenty of food!) We are trying out something new for our newsletter this week. I wanted to post the entire thing right on our blog. We will see if it works out. BOOK CLUB UPDATE:

We are taking a break from our book club meetings for the Holidays, but we will be back in full swing of things for January! Our meeting in January will be on Thursday, January 22 @ 6:30pm. The book for January is Brandt Dodsons White Soul. I am really excited to be reading this selection for January. Many of you may remember that Brandt had a book signing at our store this past summer. Christmas Card Classes

Recipe

Easy Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:

7 Eggs

1 Cup Milk

4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

6-8 slices bacon - chopped

8 frozen hash browns (patties)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground mustard



Directions:

1. Place hash browns in a single layer in a greased 9X13 baking dish. Cook bacon and slice.
2. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
3. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, salt and mustard. Pour over bacon.
4. Cover and bake at 350'F for 1 hour.
5. Uncover; bake 15 minutes longer or until edges are golden brown and knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Now, I would think that you could easily substitute sausage for the bacon, or heck, have both in there! This sounds like a wonderful recipe for Christmas breakfast. And, if you use the bacon in the casserole, make the sausage balls in addition to the casserole! YUMMO!
