Weekly News...

Hey everyone! I am officially back from Disney World. We had such a wonderful time! I am glad we missed all that cold weather you all got up here! If it makes yo ufeel any better, it was pretty chilly there. I didn't come home with a tan and we were walking around the parks with hats and gloves on.

If you haven't been in Kira's Cottage Christian Store since before Christmas, you must come and see our new arrangements in the store! We are still working on it, but it looks nice! Valentines cards are out and they are cute. We even have some for the kids to take to their Valentine parties at school!

We are looking forward to new things happening in the store this year. We will have many more catalogs this year with many more new products. Our next catalog comes out in late February with new spring book releases and Easter products. I pray that Kira's Cottage Christian Store will continue to grow so we can share the good news of the Lord with our community. I want to thank all of you for your continued patronage and support. It means so much to me that our customers continue to spread the word about Kira's Cottage. Thank you so much...

January Book Club- White Soul

Our meeting is tommorow night, Thurs. Jan 22 @ 6:30. I finished reading the book this past weekend and I loved it! I am looking forward to our meeting so we can discuss the book. Even if you haven't read the book, stop by and say hi anyway!

I am not a big fan of winter. It is dreary and January really is my least favorite month! So, I am planning a Tastefully Simple Party at Kira's Cottage Christian Store on Thursday, January 29 at 6:30pm for soemthing different. Everyone is invited to come, eat, and simply have a good time! The first Thursday of every month here at Kira's Cottage Christian Store, we will be having art classes form 5-6pm. This is starting on Thursday, February 5! This is a pattern painting class where you will learn how to create a painting using one repetitive mark. A perfect example of this technique is Starry Night by Van Gogh. Veggie Tale Event We are having another Veggie Tales Event to celebrate the upcoming release of Abe and the Amazing Promise! Bring your kids to Kira's Cottage Christian Store on Saturday, Feb 7 from 10:30-12 for a fun time! Recipe of the Week!

Italian Chicken Spaghetti Crock Pot Recipe

1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
6 to 8 boneless chicken breasts

1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
3 tablespoons water
3 medium cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons dried leaf oregano, crushed
1 teaspoon sugar, or to taste
hot cooked spaghetti (use whole grain for more fiber)
4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese (use 2% mozzerella cheese for lower fat)
grated Parmesan cheese

Cook Chicken and Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Arrange chicken in slow cooker. Combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, garlic, oregano and sugar; pour over the chicken. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Remove chicken and keep warm. Turn cooker to high heat setting, stir mozzarella cheese into sauce. Cook uncovered, till cheese melts and sauce is heated through. Serve chicken and sauce over hot cooked spaghetti. Serve with Parmesan cheese. Serves 6 to 8.
