Weekly Newsletter!

Hello again everyone! I pray you all are having a wonderful week! It is sunny outside as I am writing this and I am so thankful! I would hate to imagine living in a place where sun didn't shine! What a blessing that Resurrection Day is this Sunday! SO much to be thankful for. I pray that you all have a wonderful Easter with your loved ones.
"May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. All nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed. Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds."
Psalm 72:17-18 (New International Version)

HE IS RISEN!!!

Matthew 28:1-10
The Resurrection

1After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."
8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

Easter Recipe

Make these delightful spring and Easter treats using a fraction of the fat of regular sugar cookies. Limit it yourself to just one of these delightful Easter treats, then you won't feel too guilty.
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
5 tbsp butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar (I think you would be able to substitute splenda...)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt

Preparation:Using a mixer, beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually stir flour mixture into butter and sugar until dough forms.
Don't worry if the dough seems a little crumbly at first; it will come together.
Wrap dough in plastic and chill for two hours in the refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 1/4-inch or 1/8-inch thickness. Use Easter-themed cookie cutters dipped in flour to make cutouts. Gather scraps and re-roll until all the dough is used.
Place cookies 1 inch apart on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
If you're using sugar sprinkles, decorate the cookies before baking.
Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Transfer to wire rack after 1 minute to cool.

Makes 30 cookies, depending on size of cookie cutters used.
