Chestnuts, How to Roast
Chestnuts are traditionally roasted over an open fire in the fireplace. The husk of the chestnut must be pierced before roasting to prevent the nut from exploding. A special pan with holes in the bottom is used to contain the nuts over the fire. Roasting is done over a hot fire in a few minutes.
