Finding More to Life
The Ultimate Question
from mtl magazine
These days, it's easy to get caught up in the busyness of life. But have you ever wondered what it's all about? Life, that is. What is the meaning of life?
Granted, that's a pretty loaded question. Yet it's the ultimate question—one that's been asked throughout the centuries. In fact, you might have even asked that question when life seemed empty and meaningless. But even in those times, you can know this: you were made for a purpose.
God wants to have a personal relationship with you! In fact, that's why He created you. But this relationship is hindered by something that the Bible calls sin. The Bible says in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This means that everyone is a sinner; and according to Romans 6:23, "The wages of sin is death." No matter how good you try to be or how "spiritual" you become, your sin will prevent you from a relationship with God and an eternity with Him in heaven.
But God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you. Because of His love for you, He did for you what you as a sinner could not do for yourself. According to Romans 5:8, "God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." As a holy and just God, He sent His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for all of our sins—past, present and future. It is only by Christ's death on the cross and resurrection from the dead that you can be saved from the penalty of sin and experience an eternal, personal relationship with a living Savior!
God created you to have a relationship with Him. To receive God's gift, simply take it. Talk to God and tell Him that you know you are a sinner and that you believe the only way that you can be saved from the penalty of sin and have a personal relationship with God is through the redeeming sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Romans 10:9-10 says that "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
If this is your heart's desire and you have told God this, you can now begin living in God's perfect plan for your life! If you would like to know more about having a personal relationship with God, please come in and talk to one of our staff members today. We would love to pray with you and answer any questions you might have.
